White House Denounces 'Democratic Fabrication' as Further Epstein Estate Photos Disclosed
Democratic lawmakers have made public a new tranche of what they labeled "troubling" photographs from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 images—some of which have been seen before—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday constitute a tiny fraction of the approximately 100,000 images released to the House oversight committee, which is probing the actions and ties of Epstein.
The shamed investor died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking charges.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Featured among the prominent personalities seen in the opening set are public figures featuring movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are obscured.
White House Statement
The White House addressed the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of purposefully "hand-picking" the images for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false account."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a presidential representative said, asserting that "this presidency has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by repeatedly calling for disclosure, making public reams of papers, and calling for additional probes into Epstein's liberal connections."
Congressional Democrat Remarks
The images were disclosed devoid of explanation, but as stated by a California Democrat and ranking member of the oversight committee, they prompt further inquiries about Epstein's connections to wealthy individuals.
"Now is the occasion to end this White House cover-up and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he stated in a statement.
The disclosure of these documents occurs alongside the oversight committee proceeding with its inquiry into the affair.
