Three In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Award

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were announced live on a popular morning radio program.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The event will be aired from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
