The Two Fatalities Named in the Ivy League School Shooting as Authorities Press On With Search for Gunman.

Two students who were killed in Saturday’s violent attack in Providence had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their assailant carried on following the release by authorities in Rhode Island of the only individual detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was described as “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, per the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

She served as second-in-command of Brown’s division of the campus GOP group, as the club stated. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted words of sorrow online, stating: “It's indescribable. Thinking of her kin and peers, particularly her mother and father.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the prestigious university, according to relatives.

His name was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sibling Samira said in a online post.

What Happened

Nine more persons were hurt in the violent event in the school of engineering of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Authorities said by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-man detained in a police operation at a Hampton Inn about approximately 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“A perpetrator remains free,” said the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Investigations can lead one way, and then you must reassess and head another way, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last day or so.”

Public Fear

The shooter opened fire inside a classroom in the engineering building on over the weekend, discharging in excess of 40 shots from a 9mm handgun, a law enforcement official told the media outlet.
